Very Classy Lady

What began as casual acquaintance
grew beyond that hesitant encounter;
Treasure found in the oddest of places
all the more precious plucked from the mire.

It is far brighter than the ruby stone,
enduring beyond the hardest diamond.
More joy than the most perfect pearl to own,
warmer than the garnet upon the skin.

A rose then, perhaps, might better describe
--ever growing vine and blooming flower,
the most vibrantly perfect of its tribe-
which neither time nor circumstance devour.

Yours is a friendship, rarest of the rare,
In which I am humbly blessed to share.
